      I am curious why you would specifically want the Finder for this? Why not use a decent (S)FTP client like Cyberduck or Fugu?

      @solaris

      No problem. I had the same experience in which everything seemed stable except N64 emulation. I guess it pushes the Pi harder than any of the other emulators.

      Try to overclock only the GPU, or choose a more conservative overclock value. Also, be sure to try different N64 cores (and experiment with each of the N64's core settings) or the standalone mupen64plus emulator.

      For anyone who thinks they have an “official” controller and it doesnt work you probably have a bootleg controller. Black is the only color i personally have seen the bootlegs in but i have seen hundreds of them.

      @sxales You wrote on the issue tracker you didn't get a reply - but you have not followed the instructions when posting for help which you agreed to when registering on the forum as well as it being in bold at the top of the screen.

      Please do not post a support request without first reading and following the advice in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

      You should provide a full log also as it will contain other info (such as the full commandline). And make sure you have the correct bios files installed.

      @mrkane If you don't follow the forum's rules, then - yes - this will result in a ban. It's not that difficult to understand.

      As far as your problem - your system doesn't seem to be connected to the internet. How did you configure your RPI for network access ? Assuming you're talking about WiFI, then read https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Wifi/ and perform the steps listed there to get your PI connected to the internet.

      Hi,

      I have followed much of the same process as on here, I have up/down/left/right/a/b/x/y all working ok.

      Start and select don't work however. In the config file I have the following:

      SELECT 6 # 'Select button'
      START 16 # 'Start button'

      I noticed in the list of commands does not include 'start' and 'select' (i looked at the kerTable. file referred to on adafruit tutorial) so maybe it should be SPACE and ENTER, I tried this but still does not work in emulationstation or when playing a game.

      Any ideas?

      I am just using arcade buttons and a joystick.

      Just to check, does the part after the # matter? I thought this was just a reference in the code to the person reading it so they knew what that button/PIN did.

      @rod419 said in Noob Dilemma: No IPV4 address/No SSIDs Showing up:

      Also I can't seem to SSH from my PC, regardless of what IP I use.

      Well, if there is no network configured it's not possible to use SSH to the PI, unless you have a wired connection. If you have one, then you first need to enable SSH, since it's disabled by default - use the raspi-config script (see here).

      Remember that the PI 3 only connects over 2.4Ghz, so if your access point only works in 5Ghz, then you'll not see the SSID. This happened to me the other day. Maybe the external wireless adapter has 5Ghz support and that's why it's able to connect.

      Here is a Wireless configuration guide for the PI - including command to scan for SSIDs and configure the wireless from command line.

      Thanks so much for this!

      Apparently, I'm a knucklehead and had two things wrong in my wiring:

      D1 was in Pin3, not Pin7 I had the clock and latch wiring reversed

      I'm now able to read controller data with jstest. Thanks again!

      @hank-scorpio

      How do you have the controls attached to your Pi, are they connected directly to the gpio or is there a usb interface of some description?

      Also, you should check out the read this first link at the top of the forum pages (https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first) and complete the information requested in there in your post.
